GROUP 1

Marlies Jonkers

Hi, I’m Marlies and right now im still a sjaars. I like to make and listen to music and every month I’m obsessed with a new kind of craft. I plan my days always completely full, mostly with Thalia events or hanging out (drinking) with friends, but sometimes I make a little bit of time to read or sleep. I’ve been very active in Thalia this year, which all started at my amazing intro week and my amazing mentors, so I hope to inspire all of the new sjaars to join Thalia as well. As an Utrechter I can truly say that Nijmegen is the second best city in the country, so I’m very excited to show you around and have fun together!

Thomas Jansen

Hi everyone

My name is Thomas and I am 21 years old, I will be entering my 4th year of the Bachelor (which I hope to finish this year). My hobbies include Handball, Bowling and riding motorcycles. I am quite active in our study association Thalia and Olympus (you will hear more about this during the introweek). I am looking forward to showing you what Nijmegen, Thalia and Radboud has to offer!

Noam Jans

HeyHey,

I am Noam, 19 years old, and if you are reading this, I will start my second year as a computing science student. I am originally from Nijmegen, so I am really excited to show you my hometown!

If you see me around campus, it could be because of lectures (but probably not), studying, or a Thalia event. If I am not on campus, I like to go bouldering, play flunkyball, and sail or drink beer at the student (sailing) association N.S.Z.V De Loefbijter.

I hope to see you during the intro week or at a thalia event!

Thijmen Nooren

Hello! My name is Thijmen and I will be a second year student of CS this year. I am 21 years old and I will hopefully be showing you around this week.

I love making music, gaming or doing sports of almost any kind.

And of course doing whatever Thalia is doing at the moment, may that be ice skating, playing pool, borrelen, partying, etc.

And I expect to see all my sjaars at all these events in the future as well.

I am excited to show you around this amazing city during this week and share many pitchers with all of you!

I'm Evi, 19 years old and at the time your reading this I'll be in my third year of CS. If someone says mibo (middag borrel), noord-kantine (north canteen) or flunky ball then I'm all ears and ready to drink a nice alcoholic beverage.

Omar Soliman

Hello, my name is Omar and if you are reading this I will be in my fourth (and hopefully final) year of CS. I am from Dubai, enjoy going to the gym and playing video games. This would also be my third time being mentor, and I cannot wait to show you our lovely association and study.

Floris Reuvers

Hi everyone! I'm Floris, 22 years old, and I'm currently doing my master's in Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science (MFoCS) here at Radboud. I really liked the bachelor, and I'd love to tell you everything about it.

In my free time, I like playing (board)games with my friends, some programming and playing with LEGO. I also like joining activities of our study association Thalia.

I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you! The intro week was the best time of my studies so far, so let's make it just as good (or even better) together!

Rick Joosten

Heyhey,

I’m Rick, 23 years old and at the time of reading I will be in my fifth year here in Nijmegen. I love to play football, play some games (preferably involving alcohol) and screaming my lungs out while listening to music.

I am very excited to show you around the university, the beautiful city of Nijmegen and to give you a taste of what it’s like to be a student in CS.

Hello I’m Luuk and I'm 22 years old upcoming year I will start my fourth year of the bachelor computing science. I love to work out or drink or both.

I'm originally from Utrecht “UUuUu” but I would also like to chat if your not from Utrecht.

Sofía Weggen

Hola everyone! My name is Sofía, I am 21 years old and currently in my fourth year when you're reading this.

A little bit about me: I’m a big fan of all kinds of games. I especially love rhythm games like Beat Saber, which I’ve (tried to) play competitively, but I also spend a lot of time on other games like Expedition 33, EU4, and Honkai Star Rail. Besides video games, I’m also really into board games and have built up a pretty big collection over the years, so if you ever want to play something or just talk about games, feel free to come find me!

When I’m not gaming, I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to Thalia activities, and just having a good time during events (how original of me, I know). I know how exciting (and maybe a bit overwhelming) the intro week can be, so I’m really looking forward to helping you feel welcome, meet new people, and make sure you have an amazing start to your time here.

I’m excited to meet all of you and make this an unforgettable introduction week together. Don’t hesitate to come say hi!

Dion de Graaff

Hi, im Dion. Right after this intro week I will be starting my second year of Computing Science.

When im not busy studying for any of my courses (so most of the time) I am usually gaming, watching movies, climbing, or going to one of the many Thalia events (mostly the borrels).

Ofcourse you dont know anything about these events yet, but I can assure you that they are going to be some of the most fun things you’ve ever done. They can be basically anything, movie nights, lasergaming, DnD, painting, drunk driving (in mario kart ofcourse), and so much more. My personal favourites are ofcourse the borrels, which usually have a theme, so every borrel is different, but they are all a lot of fun.

We play a lot of games at these borrels and I hope that i can teach you most of them during our time together.

Im looking forward to meeting you all in the intro, so definitely come say hi and/or invite me to a game of flunkybal!

GROUP 4

Femke Marijnissen

Hi! My name is Femke, I'll be a fifth-year student this year. I loved my own introduction week, and I really hope to give you the same experience.

We'll show you around our beautiful city, where to find the gezelligste borrels, and of course: the Mercator building, your new home!

On campus you can usually find me there. I'm always up for a bakkie koffie and a chat, so please come and say hi when you see me. It is also the home of the best association in the city. But we won't need to teach you that, because it looks like you've already found it :)

Luc Angevare

Hi everyone! I’m Luc, and I’m currently a twaars. Most people would probably describe me as chaotic, busy, and enthusiastic, which is honestly pretty accurate. Besides my study, I spend a lot of time in and around student life: I’m in the candidate board of Thalia, I’m also active at the sailing association N.S.Z.V. de Loefbijter, and at dispuut RAS.

When I’m not running from one thing to the next, I like hanging out with friends, cooking, gaming every now and then, and trying to become better at playing keyboard. I also own a breadmaking machine, which may be one of the most adult things about me so far. Another fun fact is that my toe is still black because a friend once fell off his bike onto my foot.

For me, student life has been about much more than just studying, and it has already given me some of the best moments of my life so far. I’m really looking forward to meeting all of you during the intro week and showing you that there is a lot more to university than just lectures and deadlines.

Emma Rokers

Hi! I’m Emma, 18 years old and when you're reading this i'll be in my second year of Computing Science. I love to travel (as I am currently writing this from Vienna) and to do anything except of stuying. Right now I'm practicing five different sports, but my favorite will always be flunkyball (we'll teach you all the ins and outs of this prestigious almost olympic sport during the introduction week).

Good my name is Daan and I am a second year computing science student by the time you are reading this. My hobbies are meeting friends, gaming, playing squash and playing board games. I am very excited to meet you all and show you around the campus and Nijmegen. I can't wait to have an amazing week with you guys.

Hi! My name is Juul, I live in Breda, I’m 18 years old and currently a sjaars. I’m often at Thalia events, If you’re there, there’s a big chance I’ll be there too.

Gijon van Bokkum

Hi all, I’m Gijon. Or as most people call me: Mosterd. Get it? Gijon, Dijon, Mosterd… no? Never mind.

By the time you read this, I’ll be in my third year of Computing Science. I have a small room far away from anything useful, but I do live in Nijmegen! I enjoy spending my time hanging out with friends, often through Thalia events. I also like running and going to the gym.

I hope you’re going to have an amazing time in Nijmegen, and I’d love to show you around too! Hopefully I’ll see you during the intro week :D

Hello! My name is Emily, I am currently a third year student and I love making music, the dutch concept of 'gezelligheid' and generally being excited about life! Wether you need a sick hypeman, an introduction to student partying or just a hand to hold, I've got you covered. I hope to see you all sufficiently hyped during the start of introweek!

Joris van Schalkwijk

Hey, I'm Joris. 19 years old, born to be a musician yet forced by myself to go learn about computers. If you read this, it means I'll start my second year of CS after this week. Some other hobbies of mine include taking scenic walks, running, working on old cars, (alcoholic) games, and of course attending epic Thalia events (Don't forget to join Thalia in the intro week!!!) and sharing some beers with friends.

After doing my own intro last year, I can't wait to guide you through yours and show you the beauty of Nijmegen and the Radboud campus in probably one of the most fun weeks of your life!

Jochem Kampman

Hello everyone! My name is Bochem. By the time you're reading this, I have just finished my 5th year as a CS student (and hopefully my bachelors). Apparently I'm supposed to introduce myself to you guys, so I'd like to do this in the form of a game: I'm gonna list 3 things, 2 from which are true statements about me and 1 is false. If you're interested in finding out which one's fake, then you can come up to me in the orientation week and I'll reveal all the answers to you :)

1: I used to play waterpolo for a while when I was younger

Heyhey!

My name is Rik, I'm 20 years old and next year my third year of computing science will start. I'm a big fan of playing football, beerpong and other (drinking)games. I am very active in our study association, and most of the time you will find me hanging out with friends(and maybe studying a bit). The intro was one of the best experiences of my studies so far, and I hope to share that with you.
