Welcome to the introduction week! Your first step: Install the Radboud Events app!
Hello everyone! My name is Bochem. By the time you're reading this, I have just finished my 4th year as a CS student. Apparently I'm supposed to introduce myself to you guys, so I'd like to do this in the form of a game: I'm gonna list 3 things, 2 from which are true statements about me and 1 is false. If you're interested in finding out which one's fake, then you can come up to me in the orientation week and I'll reveal all the answers to you :)
1: I used to play waterpolo for a while when I was younger
2: I started my very own bowling team
3: I once threw up in a guitar
Alright, that's all from me for now. I can't wait to meet you all and make an awesome week together!
Hi, I’m Marlies and right now im still a sjaars. I like to make and listen to music and every month I’m obsessed with a new kind of craft. I plan my days always completely full, mostly with Thalia events or hanging out (drinking) with friends, but sometimes I make a little bit of time to read or sleep. I’ve been very active in Thalia this year, which all started at my amazing intro week and my amazing mentors, so I hope to inspire all of the new sjaars to join Thalia as well. As an Utrechter I can truly say that Nijmegen is the second best city in the country, so I’m very excited to show you around and have fun together!
Hoihoi! I'm Alin, a 3rd year (hopefully) student at Radboud. I'm pretty laid back half of the time, and very spotaneus and energic the other half)!
Over the past couple of years I've had quite a bit of fun within this University, and had my fair share of activity in Thalia, mostly doing Branding and Website Design for the Symposium!
I love anything that has to do with arts, and I myself play both electric and acoustic whenever I have the time - so hit me up if you want me to play anything for you! Looking forward to meeting you and having a great time during the intro week!
P.S Say hi to Luca from me!
Hello there!
My name is Jelmer, 22 years old, and I'm starting with my fourth year of Computing Science.
I'm quite the nerd when it comes to programming, robotics and hacking. In my spare time I like to grab a beer, hang out with friends,... and grabbing a few more beers :).
In my experience, the introduction week is one of the most unforgettable, fun and exciting weeks of the year. It's a great place to meet new people and make friends.
I'm looking forward to meet you, and making this another week to never forget!
Hello! My name is Emily, I am currently a second year student and I love making music, the dutch concept of 'gezelligheid' and generally being excited about life! Wether you need a sick hypeman, an introduction to student partying or just a hand to hold, I've got you covered. I hope to see you all sufficiently hyped during the start of introweek!
Hi! My name is Evi, I'm 18 years old and I'll be in my second year when you’re reading this. I love to play soccer, hang with friends and I'm always in to do something stupid (I especially love it when the idea includes drinking).
Hello new computing science students. Welcome to the orientation week of Thalia and Computing Science. Hopefully I will be your mentor for this week!
A bit about myself, my name is Floris. When you read this I am a third year student of Computing Science. I live in the oldest student complex in Nijmegen. My hobbies are running, gaming and, of course, sharing a beer or two with my friends.
See you soon!
Hi, I am Fabian. I am 19 years old and this year will be my second year of computing science. I like to play field hockey and flunkybal, and of course to drink beer. See you in the intro!
Hello everyone!
My name is Sarah, I'm 22 years old, and I’ll be one of the mentors this year. I’m currently a fourth-year student, and I’ll be showing you around Nijmegen during this Introweek!
As a student, your main job is of course studying, but when I’m not hitting the books, I love hanging out with friends and going to raves and festivals. Gotta have a good balance, right?
Here are three funfacts about me:
-My favorite music genre is Hardstyle, with an honorable mention to DnB and Techno.
-I was once declined for the army, which actually turned out to be a blessing—because it led me here!
-On my last holiday, my car got towed away by the police… which was super fun ;)
I’m really looking forward to meeting all of you this Introweek!
Heyhey,
I’m Rick, 22 years old and at the time of reading I will be in my fourth year here in Nijmegen. I love to play football, play some games (preferably involving alcohol) and screaming my lungs out while listening to music.
I am very excited to show you around the university, the beautiful city of Nijmegen and to give you a taste of what it’s like to be a student in CS.
I'm usually more fun in real life so make sure to come talk with me :)
Heyy i'm Tristan, i'm 20 yrs old and i'll be a 3rd year student this year. I'm from Estonia, and i like going to the gym. If you see me on campus, it's probably for a Thalia event or (much less likely) a lecture. I can't wait to have an amazing week with you guys :)
Hello, my name is Omar and if you are currently reading this, I am in my third year of cs. I am from Dubai, I enjoy going to the gym, playing the bass and going to punk rock concerts. I hope you guys do not see me as a person, but as a concept. Also would not mind taking your unused lithium batteries.
xoxo,
Omar
Helloooo,
My name is Femke and I'll be starting my fourth year of cs. I am a very very nice person and I really look forward to meeting you during the intro. Besides that my hobbies are ice skating, knitting and most importantly, writing small pieces of text about myself, but sometimes it brings Bochem (shout-out naar Bochem) so much joy that I let him do it, but that is not what happened here so no worries.
To get you started on getting to know me I will leave one more fun fact about myself: I am a member of a great bowling association, and not only have I played the least competition games, I did get over 100 every single time (so come at me bro).
Anyways, I hope you are already hyped for the most amazing week of you (student)life, I really hope to see you there!
Hello, I'm Noud and I am 22 years old. Next year I will head into my fifth and (hopefully) final year of Computing Science. In my spare time I like to be outside in nature, if the weather allows it. Otherwise I like to game, draw and learn useless facts about animals. I also like going to borrels and other events organized by Thalia. Other things I do often but aren't really hobbies are cycling to my hometown Bemmel, mentally checking out and going to the gym.
I am excited to see you during the introduction and show you all the beautiful places around campus and Nijmegen in general. Hopefully I will see you during the intro :).
Hey, my name is Gijs Minkhorst. I am third year double bachelor Mathematics-Computing Science student. I study hard when need be, but I always make sure i have enough free time to do things i like. But what do i like? Well ofcourse all the things i do with friends, going to thalia events, swimming at "waalstrand", drinking a few beers, go to parties, simply eating lunch together, you name it. When I am on my own I like to make some music, I play piano and guitar. Or when I am tired i just watch some netflix. But when I have too much energy I go sporting, mostly bouldering or jogging.

T errific! You have done great by signing up for the introduction, since this is the most fun event of the year where you can get to know all your fellow 'sjaars' (first years)
R ight now you must be very excited, and so was I when I signed up for the introduction at the start of my first year, last year. I couldn't wait!
E specially because of all the new people I was going to meet. And me as your mentor is one of them! So let me introduce myself, I'm Vince, I just turned 20 and I'll be starting my third year this year.

B y the way, I hope you are reading this and not skipping over it, my mentor in my intro spelled a secret word in this text to check if people were actually reading it, which I thought was quite fun
A lso especially since he won't be attending this introduction, I would like to continue the tradition, so if you tell me the secret word spelled by the first letter in every sentence I will buy you a beer or a soda!
K nowing all this about how much fun this into is going to be and kind of who I am (I got a little off track haha), I hope to have informed you enough and I'm looking forward to meeting you in August!
Hey, I'm Pablo and I'm a 19 year old 1st year student here in Nijmegen.
