Presentation by our board

The board of our Study Association Thalia will give a presentation on what our Study Association is and what we can provide you during your time as  a student. The Introduction Committee will also give a small talk to let you know what you can expect from the introduction week.

Education day

During this activity, you will get to know what you can expect from the upcoming years as a Computing Scientist. Amongst others, you will sign up for the first courses and exams you'll be following! Finally, you will get to know some important facilities and some of the professors. See more here.

Introduction market

Spread across the campus are stands hosted by all the different associations that can add to your student life, ranging from sports associations to study associations or even an e-sports association, there should be something fun for everyone!

Barbecue

During the intro barbecue, you can enjoy some nice food and drinks and have the opportunity to meet people from other groups. We will also provide some games that can be played. This event is also open for regular students Computing Science, so you can get to know your future selves as well!

Bowling

During this activity, you will go party bowling at Olround! We know for sure you've never experienced a game of bowling like this one.

Night program: Theme Party

A theme party at our local campus partyhouse De Professor! Brace yourselves for a cosy party on the edge of the campus.

TUESDAY (22-8)

Sports day

During this event, you will get the chance to try out a lot of different sports to see if there is anything you like. You will also learn more about all the different sport associations, and the facilities at the Radboud Sports Centre.

Lunch is provided, but be sure to have breakfast beforehand, since you will be moving around a lot!

Pubcrawl

At the pubcrawl we are (sadly) not literally crawling through pubs. We have planned a tour along some of the finest pubs and bars that Nijmegen has to offer.

In each pub you will spend a short amount of time with a different mentor team who will introduce you to the place, play a game and have a drink with you.

WEDNESDAY (23-8)

International Office lecture

TBA

Rowing with Phocas

Today we'll be rowing with the one an only student rowing association in Nijmegen: Phocas. You'll all get the chance to get a taste of what rowing in a real boat is like, under professional assistance. Other than that we'll be enjoying a nice lunch here, and there are loads of side activities to be done here. If you like to just enjoy the weather: the bar is open and there are several chillout spots.

Thalia Fun Fair

Thalia's unofficial fun fair! We filled the park with several activities, inflatables, contests, wacky stuff, games and props to fight and have fun with your fellow students. Get yourself surprised by what computing scientists have to offer when it comes to weird competitions.

LAN Party & Chill

During this event, we will have one of the coolest LAN Parties you have ever been to! We will make sure there are drinks, snacks and consoles to compete with your new fellow students, and participate in tournaments. Aside from that, there is lots of suprising things to do for those that are not into gaming.

THURSDAY (24-8)

Prosecco brunch

We will be having a prosecco (or coffee/tea) brunch hosted by the Student Association Ovum Novum. Ovum Novum is one of the two big student associations of Nijmegen. This morning is known as one of the mornings with a steeper 'learning curve'.

Scavenger hunt

The legendary Scavenger Hunt is a competition where you and your group try to show the Introduction Committee your best worst sides. The goal is to score as many points as possible by making creative and funny photos and videos. There will be a list provided with tasks fitting the theme wich you could do for a certain amount of points but working around that list with some creativity is always appreciated and awarded with extra creativity points. This is the moment where you can haunt Nijmegen and blame the Introduction Committee for making the event!

Thalympics

We will organize some some game competitions to get you in the mood for BeestFeest! You can choose to either go the haywire way and attend the drinking games, or go laidback mode and save up on your energy for BeestFeest.

Night program: BeestFeest

The official student party of the bèta faculty! This is a very big party in Poppodium Doornroosje, the biggest party/event venue in Nijmegen.

FRIDAY (25-8)

Geocache

New this year: The geocaching tour. You'll walk around campus in search for clues, puzzles and answers in your quest to salvation. Don't look surprised if you encounter some unusual stuff..

Board games & chill

Probably tired from the week and the geocaching (or simply hungover), you get the chance here to reinvigorate while playing board and card games with your (hopefully by now) friends.

Dinner at the Professor

We will go barbecueing at the Professor! The unofficial local university pub. Close to home! Together we will enjoy some meat(less) meals while enjoying a drink or two. You might still smell the stench of last night's party! It's gonna be an early dinner, so save up your stomach!

End show

Before we enter the last day, we will highlight reflect on the week. All highlights, stories, and fun stuff that happened throughout the week will be presented here during this spectacular endshow. Awards will be handed out!

Cantus

Enough laziness! We will introduce you to a classic student tradition: A cantus. This is all about singing together to please the Praesidium; the masters of the music ceremony. Singing out of tune? You shall deal with the consequences. Are your bard and story-telling skills magnificient? You shall be rewarded.
