WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?

WHAT IS THE WEEK ABOUT?

On the first day, you will be assigned to a so called mentor group. This group consists of upcoming first-year Computing Science students like yourself, as well as three mentors. These mentors are experienced Computing Science students who will help you get to know your fellow students and show you everything that the Radboud University and the beautiful city of Nijmegen has to offer. They will also help you out if you run into any trouble during the week and answer any questions that might arise.

During the week, you and your mentor group will explore city of Nijmegen in every aspect when it comes to the student life! After the week, you should be able to start with the study programme confidently, you know the ins and outs of the university, you probably made some friends during the week and if not, you at least know a lot of people to start making friends with! But most of all: You feel welcome in Nijmegen and you know how to enjoy life as a student!

Overseeing the introduction week is the Introduction Committee. This committee consists of members who know the study really well and have a lot of experience with introduction weeks. They are responsible for organizing the week and all the activities that take place in it. If you have any questions about the introduction week, you can contact this committee. During the week, all mentor groups will also have a designated contact person from this committee.

FINANCIAL

When you register for the orientation, you need to pay one time an amount of money. This money will be used to organise all events during the week and to cover dinner plans and basic lunch for each day. This means that outside of the occasional quick breakfast, you should not have to make to make additional cost during the week. In practice, you will probably want to get drinks or snacks during the week or go out in the evenings after the events planned by us. For these reasons, we do strongly recommend you bring additional money to cover optional costs.

At the orientation festival organised by the university, you can only pay using your wristband in combination with the Radboud Events app. In the Radboud Events app you can put credit on a balance which you then pay with during the festival for food and drinks. You don't have to worry about any leftover balance, this will all be refunded after the orientation.

THINGS YOU NEED

Food will be provided during most of the week and on moments that it is not, you will have plenty of time to sort something out.
